Université de Lubumbashi A centre of excellence in several fi elds of study and research Université de Lubumbashi, a public university, is located in Lubumbashi, the administrative centre of the mining province of Katanga in the south-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It was established in 1955 under the name of Université Offi cielle du Congo Belge et du Ruanda-Urundi (UOCBRU). After that it became Université d’Etat d’Elisabethville (U.E.E), Université Offi cielle du Congo (U.O.C), Université Nationale du Zaire- Campus de Lubumbashi and since 1981, Université de Lubumbashi (UNILU).
